Echo Image(エコーイメージ)の大好評のデビューリリースCompuphonicと引き続いての人気シングル「Endless Day」から数年がたって、ファンの皆さんが次のリリースはいつだろうとかなり期待していた。でも公式サイトでずっと「My Sense of Emptiness」の一部のサンプルしか出てこなかった。時々掲示板やフォーラムのトピックが挙がったので、ファンが消えてないだろう。まだまだ期待を持って待っているでしょう！
プロ：エレがいくつかの質問をして、Echo ImageのPålさんがこう答えた。。。
プロエレ：一人のメンバーがバンドを辞めたという噂を聞いたが、これは本当ですか？
Pål:This is true. Fredrik left the band, due to schoolwork. He had to move his studies to England, so we agreed it was best if he left the band. However, he has moved back to Norway now, and we are currently having talks about him joining the band once more.
そうです。フレドリックが勉強のために、辞めた。彼がイギリスに行ったので、バンドから離れた方がいいと決めた。しかし、またノルウェーに戻ってきたので、もう一度バンドに入るという話をしている。
プロエレ：現在のメンバーはだれ？
Pål: Current band members are: Pål-Magnus Rybom, Trine Bilet and Lars K Holt.

プロエレ：近年、Echo Imageはどういう活動をしていた？
Pål: It has been a long period without any inspiration. It is terribly frustrating when you want to finish the album, but are unable to. It was like the songs I wrote simply wasn’t good enough. I guess you could say, I was afraid I couldn’t live up to everybody's expectations. So for the past years, I have concentrated on being a good boy, doing my schoolwork properly. Trine has also been studying, while Lars has been working.
長い間、何かをやろうという気分になってない。アルバムを完成させたいのに、なかなかできなくてとてもフラストレーションが溜まるさ。作った曲は物足りないと自分が思った。簡単にいうと、みんなの期待に応えられない恐れを感じた。それで、その間にオリコウにして、学生としてちゃんとやっていこうと。Trineも学生で、Larsは仕事をしている。
プロエレ：別の噂ですが、ＡＰＢのStephan Grothが自分で作ったレーベルHard:driveを突然解散して別にレーベルに入ったという時期にEcho Imageはがっかりすると思われるけど。。。この時はどう思ってた?
Pål: Well, it didnｴt really matter that much at the time, because I was having trouble finishing the album anyway. So I was kinda happy about having more time to get inspired. It would have been awful to release something I wasn't happy about.
まあ、その時は、新アルバムを終わらせなければならない大変な時期だったから、逆に余裕ができてちょっと嬉しかった。自分が満足してないリリースを出したら最悪なことだろう。
プロエレ：ホームページに「My Sense of Emptiness」のサンプルがあったが、２年もたって、その曲はまだ関係あるのか？
Pål: Has it been that long? Wow. My Sense of Emptiness will be on the upcoming album; which has the working title of Truth・ I have set a personal deadline that it is to be finished and released sometime in 2006!
そんなに時間がたっているか？ワオ。「My Sense of Emptiness」は新リリースに入る予定です。リリースのワーキングタイトルは「Truth」。自分の締め切りは今年中に出したいと思っている。
プロエレ：Compuphonicはとても素晴らしいリリースだった。何人もベスト１０枚の好きなＣＤにも入れる。Echo Imageのサウンドはとてもパワフルで、手を加えた（他アーティストの）リミックスもそのパワーを感じるね。自分のサウンドはどう表現する？
Pål: Our sound is energetic, melodic and modern with a touch of the 80s. We have tried to combine catchy synth-pop refrains with a more modern feel to it.
我々のサウンドは精力的、メロディックとモダンと８０年代の風味を付け加え。現代的なのりに覚えやすい折り返し句を混ぜあう。
プロエレ：同じような質問ですが、今作っている曲は前と比べるとどうかな？
Pål: I have realized why I haven't been able to compose songs for such a long time. I was reflecting on the past, trying to re-create a second Ｃompuphonic・ when I should have been concentrating on the present and the future.
なんでずっと曲を作れなかったか気づいた。過去を考えすぎで、もう一つのCompuphonicを作ろうとしたから。それより現在と将来を集中したべきだった。
The new material is in fact different from the old. I'd like to say it’s more mature. It also contains more elements of rock than before, but without loosing the echo image feeling to it.
新しい曲は前と違うね。落ち着いているといいたいかな。前よりもロックな部分もあるけど、まだEcho Imageのフィーリングをなくしていない。
We are currently negotiating with a really good producer, to help us make this album sound way better than the first. I have accepted that you canｴt do everything yourself, and that it is not a sign of weakness getting outside help.
現在、次のリリースを前よりいいサウンドを出すために、とてもいいプロデューサーと相談している。すべてが自分でできるわけはないし、周りに手伝ってもらうことは別に弱いという意味じゃないということがわかった。
プロエレ：新リリースといえば、今度いつ新しいEcho Imageの曲を聴けるでしょうか？
Pål: Sometime in 2006.
２００６年中に。
プロエレ：新しいレーベルを決めたの？
Pål: No not yet. Whichever that gives us the best deal, I guess. Back in the old Compuphonic days it was just really cool to be able to release something. Now I want to be smart about it; getting something in return for the hours put into it.
まだね。一番いいところかな。Compuphonicの時代に、出せばいいだろうと思っていたが、今はやはり苦労したものなので、考えながら決めていく。
Let's wait and see what happens when the labels hear our new stuff.
レーベルに新しい曲を聞かせたら、どうなるでしょう。
